Deanna Denker, 68, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames after a two-year battle with cancer.

Deanna's family is planning to privately celebrate her life.

Deanna Kay Denker was born May 30, 1955, in Denison, IA to Virgil and Phyllis (Genzen) Denker. She grew up in Denison where she graduated high school. Deanna pursued education in health care and became a registered nurse that allowed her to care for others in home health care. Deanna was a loving mother and was blessed with three sons, Justin, Jeremy, and Andy.

Deanna enjoyed shopping and searching Goodwill stores for unique items. She also liked attending rock concerts and leisure trips to the casino. Most of all, Deanna loved her family and had many friends; she treasured spending time together and making memories.

Deanna is survived by her sons, Justin Lownes, Jeremy (Tiffany) Lownes, and Andrew (Catherine Ney) Lownes; grandchildren, Parker, Ethan, Vivian, and Madison Lownes; significant other, Steve Hidlebaugh; sisters, Rhonda Cool, Lori Schneckloth, Linda (Jim) Thomas, and Lisa (Scott) Dollerschell; and many friends that Deanna considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
