Richard "Dick" Smith, 43, of Boone passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

A Celebration of Dick's Life will be held later in Boone.

Richard Duane Smith was born July 10, 1979, in Boone, Iowa to Larry and Patsy (Scott) Smith. He grew up in Boone where he received his education. Dick had over 20 years' experience working as a glass glazier and installer at Tri Lite Windows and later Boone Glass.

On May 23, 2022, Dick was united in marriage to his longtime life partner, Marcie Strovers. They have shared many memories together with their family and friends.

Dick was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and enjoyed BBQ cookouts with friends, Friday night guys night playing pool, poker, and greedy. He treasured time spent with his children fishing, boating, and playing video games, and could often be found driving around and working on his 1971 El Camino. Most of all, Dick loved spending time with Marcie, his children and entire family.

Dick will be deeply missed by his wife, Marcie; children, Trevor (fiancé, Bailey) Smith, Briley Smith, and Lexi Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry; sister, Jody Smith; brother-in-law, James Smith; and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
