Ashly Cook, age 40, of Nevada, Iowa, died Monday, March 28, 2022.

Born February 17, 1982, in Ames, Iowa, Ashly Michelle Cook was the daughter of Michael and Michelle (Kirkpatrick) Cook. She grew up and received her education in Nevada, graduating from Nevada High School in 2000, then furthered her education at DMACC. She was employed as a medical laboratory technician and, most recently, worked for Tyler Technologies in Ames.
Ashly will be remembered for her kind, loving nature and her ability to put others at ease and help them feel good in any circumstance. She had a huge heart for animals, especially her four pugs, and was a generous supporter of the Story County Animal Shelter. Ashly was a talented artist and expressed her creativity in a variety of forms, including drawing, woodworking, and in decorating her home.
Survivors include her parents, Mike and Michelle Cook of Nevada; and one sister and her family, Alyssa and Ryan Wierson of Nevada and their children Kennedy, Sydney, Zachary, and Nelly.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Ashly and her family.
