Ruth A. Snyder, 77, of Huxley, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Born April 21, 1944, in rural Polk City, Iowa, Ruth Ann Snyder was the daughter of William "Mac" McKinley and Bessie (Price) Adams. She grew up on the farm and attended North Polk Community Schools. On January 19, 1968, she was united in marriage to Ernest Harold Snyder at Hopkins Grove Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Huxley in 1971, and was blessed with three children, Julia, Colton, and Melissa.
Ruth was employed 24 years as a fabricator at Bourns, Inc. in Ames, then worked 15 years at Mary Greeley Medical Center. She possessed a green thumb and loved spending time in her beautiful flower gardens. Ruth also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting, as well as word puzzles, watching birds, and mushroom hunting. She cherished the company of family and friends will be remembered for her delicious cooking skills.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ernie; three children, Julia (Andrew) Carpenter of Nevada, Colton (Launa) Snyder of Huxley, and Melissa Paulson of Huxley; seven grandchildren, Amy, Samantha, Tabitha, Paige, Braeden, Alyssa, and Miranda; five great-grandchildren, Lola, Rozlynn, Gavin, Mateo, and Eliza; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Mae Stensland; and two brothers, Maurice Adams and John Adams.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Ruth and her family.

Snyder family, We have known you all for many years. I remember Ruth as a generous coworker at Mary Greeley; then later her entire family when Melissa was or neighbor. We have some blue phlox Ruth brought and helped me plant in our yard that we look forward to every year. We have enjoyed and your friendship , watching the family grow and think of you all with smiles. Ernie, Colton and family, I was so sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She was such a sweet lady and I know my mom really enjoyed her friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
