Christy L. Holteen, age 63, of Boone, Iowa, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Born October 21, 1958, in Boone, Iowa, Christy Lynn Holteen was one of six children born to Robert and Bertha Firnhaber. She grew up and received her education in Boone and was married to Ben A. Holteen on May 13, 2004, in Jefferson, Iowa.
Christy loved the company of her family and had a knack for making the holidays special. She also enjoyed an occasional visit to the casino and listening to her favorite song, Please Remember Me by Tim McGraw.
Survivors include her husband, Ben; two children, Benjamin Holteen and Angie Firnhaber, both of Boone; a grandson, Jonathon Gage Holteen of Des Moines; a brother, Mike Firnhaber of Boone; a sister, Cindy (Mike) Templeton of Boone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Phil Firnhaber and Jeff Firnhaber; and a sister, Pam Anderson.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Christy and her family.
