Doris Quillen, age 82, of Nevada, Iowa, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Accura Healthcare of Ames, Iowa.

Born September 7, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, Doris Dorothy Quillen was the daughter of John and Dorothy (Johnson) Sorenson. She grew up in the Fort Dodge area. On February 22, 1986, Doris was united in marriage to Wayne A. Quillen. The couple blended their families and were also blessed with one daughter.

Doris worked in the bar/restaurant business in the Fort Dodge area and retired in 1972. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors. Her family was the source of much joy.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Quillen of Nevada; children, Christina M. Sorenson of Nevada, Denise Bucklew of Temple, TX, Kitty Kientoff of Des Moines, Debra Dillingham of Fort Dodge, Wayne Quillen, Jr. of Kentucky, India Pratt of Grimes, and Jennifer Perez-Garcia of Ames; 55 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Richard, Jerry, Gerald, Jackie and Al Sorenson; and a sister, Helen Evans.

Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Doris and her family.
