Ricardo "Ricky" Miranda, age 46, of Ames, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on Tuesday, august 24, 2021.

Ricardo was born in Puerto Rico on October 31, 1974, to Francisco and Zoraida (Hernandez) Miranda. He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Puerto Rico and worked as a software engineer. Most recently, he was employed at Best Buy in Ames.
Ricky loved music, playing the bass guitar, watching television, playing video games, and the company of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his siblings, Jonathan Miranda, Zoe Miranda, and Naya Miranda, all of Ames; and by his nieces and nephews, Neisha, Sheraldy, Nathaniel, Dominik, and Lorenzo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Ricky and his family.
