John Robert Brubaker, age 54, of Boone, Iowa, died at his home on Saturday, August 21, 2021. John bravely finished his two-and-a half-year fight with Esophageal/Stomach Cancer and went peacefully into the loving waiting arms of his grandmother, Edna Earl Thomas and his father, Kenneth Robert Brubaker. He was surrounded by loving family and friends.

John was the loving husband to Tammy Brubaker, married November 8, 1997; grandson of Dwight and Edna Thomas; son of Kenneth and Amelia (Amy) Brubaker; nephew of Wayne Brubaker and Pauline Thune; brother of Mark Brubaker, Kevin Dougherty, Patrick Dougherty, and Christopher Dougherty; father of Amber Brubaker-Maturino; grandfather of Loreena Jo Maturino; son-in-law of Larry and Charisse Cook; brother-in-law of Deborah Lescano, Carrie Cook, and Jordan Cook.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at City Limits Saloon & Grill, 4514 9th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201 on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 3-7 p.m.
