Elizabeth Kenney, age 49, of Ames, Iowa, and formerly of Conrad, Iowa, died peacefully at her home in Ames on Monday, March 16, 2020, with her family by her side.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. Private family inurnment will be held in the Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, Iowa.
Born June 13, 1970, in Ames, Iowa, Elizabeth Ann Kenney was the daughter of James Carleton and Chelly Ann (Mort) Kenney.
Beth is survived by her parents, Jim and Chelly Kenney of Ames; her sister, Rachel Kenney of Humboldt; two aunts, Dru (Bill) Sampson of Lawrence, KS, and Connie (Don) Hill of Ft. Morgan, CO; as well as extended family members and many friends who have become family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bob and Anita Kenney; and maternal grandparents, George and Charlotte Mort.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Beth and her family.
The Wederquist family in Colorado sends their deepest condolences as Beth passes from this life - it is so hard to know what to say at a time like this. It has been so many years since we have seen Beth but certainly time and distance does not reduce the sorrow we all feel knowing that she left this life and her family much to soon. Someone very special to me once said, as we were gathered with family waiting for a beautiful life to pass, "Kurt what if there are as many people waiting on the other side for her to arrive as there are here waiting for her to pass...?" That one thought has remained with me for over 20 years and has offered me such comfort when I have needed it most. Faith tells me that Beth was greeted with just as much love on the other side as she was sent home with. Scott, Heidi and I send our love and deepest sympathy.
